I wasn't really lost. There's a valley-ish place at the end of this video, which connects the gardens/pond at the start of it with the back of my school. I was trying to find a way to get through there in a straight line and establish a path between the uni and the gardens.
The exploration didn't yield satisfactory results and I just ended up wading through Jurassic-sized weeds for a while. The choice was basically hop the fence or wade back into the jungle to find the path again, so.I hope I didn't damage the bush I fell on, anyway.
