After the news that the Fortnite 8.01 update reduced the chances of finding an Infantry Rifle by a small amount, it seems brand new Epic and Legendary variants of the semi-automatic rifle are on.

1. The Infantry Rifle was introduced to Fortnite in update v7.40 on Feb. 14—but it’s only available as a Common, Uncommon, or Rare weapon at this time. Now, leaks suggest that more-powerful Epic.
2. Infantry Rifle is an Assault Rifle in Battle Royale.It is available in Uncommon, Rare, Epic, and Legendary variants. It uses Medium Bullets and has a head shot multiplier of x2.0. The Infantry Rifle is 100% accurate when aiming down sights and does great damage, but has a limited magazine size of 8 and does not constantly fire bullets when the trigger is held down.
