Why is there nothing online that deals with it?The problem is that when I open IE11, there is a Bing search bar beneath the menu bar. I cannot change this to Google and I cannot get rid of it.I DO NOT WANT BING. I have therefore removed it using the Tools menu and changed the default search engine to Google.

There are several ways, but when you click “Manage Add-ons” under Tools click “Search Providers” on the left side of the box, you will see a list of names in numeric order (i.e. Secure Search, etc.) on the right side of the box.On the left bottom, you will see a “Disable suggestions” in blue color, you would need to click on that to DISABLE your BING! Search app(s). On your new page.Tony4219 says. I had the above disabled and Bing would still come up with new tab you also need to go: open IE, click on “Tools” at top of page. Click on “Internet Options” at bottom of menu.
Make sure you type the address of your desired search engine in the box at the top and select “Apply” at the bottom but not “OK” yet Click on “Tabs” and then look for “When a new tab is opened, open:” click on down arrow and select “Your first home page” and then “OK”. Does anyone know how to reinstall the google search box. This is certainly not a change Microsoft should have made without advising about it and identifying the “downgrade” failing that does anyone know what I have to remove to get it back as it was.Failing that as I am only a few minutes from the UK Microsoft office i will take it down there next week for them to fix.Steve says.
